Subway script: newest draft

Frame 1: full-screen footage, big caption Seven years ago, I cried outside a Subway for an hour.
It was my first time ordering food in English.
They asked me something. I didn't understand. I answered. They didn't understand me.
I walked out with no sandwich.
Sitting on that curb, I didn't make a big plan. I just knew I never wanted to feel that small again.
Now I live in America and work in English every day. It's still broken English.
But last week, I
That girl outside Subway would not believe it.
What's something small that once felt impossible to you?
Why it's built this way
- It opens on the crying. Your skip rate says the hook has to land in the first 2 seconds, so it skips any "before I was confident" setup.
- Subway is the 5-second moment. Crying on that curb is when you became a different person, which is the before-and-after Matthew Dicks looks for.
- It has to stay true. If you didn't consciously decide anything that day, "I just knew I never wanted to feel that small again" keeps it honest.
- The ending isn't a résumé. It keeps the broken English and lands on something small, not the dream job.
